Description

With registration mark for 1907, a lovely shaped octagonal silver plate entree dish with cast and applied foliate decoration, standing on rounded feet.
Unusually, in addition to the usual detachable centre handle, there is a removable swing handle as well. What a clever way to transport a hot dish! It can also be left in place and will not interfere with normal operation of the cover.
Size-11.25 inches long by 8.25 inches wide by 5.25 inches high to centre handle or 7.25 inches high with swing handle upright.
This dish makes either one covered entree dish, or two open ones, when it is separated, as the decoration also continues on the inside of the cover.
A really lovely and unusual entree dish, with an elegant shape and very different style, by a famous maker.
In very good condition.
