Description

American sterling silver three piece caviar bowl, cover and stand, made by Gorham, excellent makers, and retailed by Black, Starr, and Frost-Gorham, famous retailers in New York, and marked between 1929-1939. Gorham has always been known for fine quality, superior design and finishing.
This sterling is .925 fine, which is identical to English sterling silver.
This unusual piece consists of an original etched glass bowl, covered by a sterling silver cover topped with urn finial, resting on a sterling silver stand, having a cast and applied feather edge.
The stand has some light surface scratching which could be buffed if desired.
Size of stand is 10 inches diameter, while the bowl is 5 inches diameter.
In very good condition, and a very good value. This is a great piece for the caviar afficionado, which could also be used for butter, prawns or dips.
